1. Space-Saving and Aesthetic Enhancement: By eliminating radiators and their branch pipes indoors, this system increases usable floor space, simplifies interior design and furniture arrangement, and reduces hard-to-clean areas. In the past, centralized heating in northern regions relied on radiators, which were not very aesthetically pleasing. Many people chose to cut holes in the walls to conceal the radiators, but this compromised heating efficiency. Although radiators are now designed to be more visually appealing, they still take up valuable living space.
2. Comfort and Hygiene: Underfloor radiant heating is the most comfortable heating method. It maintains an even surface temperature across the floor, with room temperature gradually decreasing from the floor upward, creating a pleasant sensation of warm feet and a cool head. It also minimizes air convection, helping to keep indoor air clean.
3. Low Maintenance Costs: Underfloor heating systems use corrosion-resistant materials; the pipes do not rust, so they will not become clogged or experience changes in flow rate due to rust. Once backfilled with concrete, the system becomes an integral part of the building’s structural layer. Barring human damage, it requires no maintenance for 50 years, making maintenance costs negligible.
4. High Adaptability: The system is unaffected by outdoor temperatures, significantly extending the heating system’s lifespan.
5. Long Service Life: In low-temperature underfloor heating, plastic pipes or heating cables buried underground offer excellent stability and are corrosion-resistant; barring human damage, their service life matches that of the building itself. Compared to convection heating, it saves on maintenance and replacement costs.
6. Reduced Floor Noise: Floor slabs are typically made of precast or cast-in-place concrete, which provide extremely poor sound insulation—footsteps on the floor above can be heard on the floor below. Underfloor heating adds an insulation layer, providing excellent sound insulation and reducing noise pollution.
